Pumpkin Seed Pot
Pumpkin Seeds may be small, but they’re packed full of valuable nutrients, vitamins, minerals, antioxidants & essential amino-acids tryptophan & glutamate.
Eating only a small amount still provides a substantial quantity of healthy fats, iron, zinc & especially magnesium, where they contain among the highest levels of this vital mineral. In fact, most western diets are magnesium-deficient & healthy magnesium levels are important for blood pressure, heart health, bone health & blood sugar levels.
Additionally, regular consumption of Pumpkin Seeds can help to promote good sleep: the zinc helps convert the tryptophan to serotonin, which in turn changes to melatonin, the hormone that regulates your sleep cycle. Zinc is also particularly important for men’s health & fertility with studies also showing they may reduce symptoms of benign prostate enlargement & an overactive bladder.
High in fibre too, the antioxidants present in Pumpkin Seeds may also help protect against disease & reduce inflammation.
Add to muesli, granola bars, salads, fruit & nut mixes, sprinkle on Greek yoghurt, use in salad dressings or bake with them – they’re very easy to incorporate into diets & the benefits are worthwhile.
Volume: 64g resealable pot.
For a great smoothie, add 2 tsp (8g) of Pumpkin Seeds to a blender with a banana & 200ml almond milk (or your favourite alternative) & blend well. Add berries too for an extra boost. If just used like this, the pot contains around 8 servings, so it’s great value.
